We have had such a great response to Robert Hand’s workshop that unfortunately we are unable to take any further registrations for this workshop. The other workshops are filling fast as well so if you are interested please register earlier, rather than later, in order not to be disappointed.

Accommodation at University College is available from the 18-23, but dates before and after these are unavailable at this venue. However we can accommodate you at International House so please let us know your accommodation needs. And please check with the FAQ on the website for accommodation updates.

Interstate delegates – when you know your date and time of arrival at Melbourne airport, please let us know as we can match you with other delegates arriving on the same plane or at a similar time in order for a taxi share. Those arriving at the airport on Wednesday morning who are going straight to Robert Hand’s workshop can taxi share. Or if you are arriving later, let us know your details and if you would like to be in contact with others to share a taxi to University College.

2012 FAA CONFERENCE: Weaving the Fabric of Time

In this edition of the journal our featured speaker Robert Hand has written an insightful article What are we doing Anyway? inviting us to reflect and delve deeper into what we do with our craft. We are delighted to welcome Robert Hand back to Oz where he has been one our favourite overseas presenters in the past. Robert Hand will be giving an all day workshop before the conference begins and this is filling fast. We expect this workshop to be filled, so we are suggesting early registration in order not to be disappointed. The pre-conference and conference lectures will be the only presentations Robert will be doing this time in Australia.

We have also changed the venue for Robert Hand’s workshop to the Abbotsford Convent as this is a beautiful venue and a great place to enjoy your day with Robert. Transportation will be available from University College to take our out-of-towners to the venue and bring them back. Plus there will be many locals available to help assist you to the venue. The committee thought it would be a great place to spend the day in this wonderful setting. As you enter the precinct you are taken back in time. Since astrologers come here to classes or seminars it also has become affectionately known as Hogwarts. As well the convent houses a wing of alternate therapists so if you also wanted to coordinate your visit with any other of the treatments available or if you are just interested in the venue go to: http://www.abbotsfordconvent.com.au/wellbeing. On site there are many places to have lunch or coffee, have time out, take a relaxing walk along the Yarra or visit the children’s farm.

The lecture schedule and timetable is now posted for each conference day. As you can see our conference program is packed with exceptional speakers who are offering exciting lectures, seminars and workshops; therefore it has been a huge task to arrange the schedule. Making choices will be tough; I sympathise with Libras trying to make their selections. However all the lectures will be recorded and there will be lots to discuss with your friends and colleagues during the breaks.

Good quality comfortable student rooms are still available; however if student accommodation is not your thing then on the website we have listed other accommodation nearby (see FAQ). All the apartments that we have been able to hold in other colleges have now all been booked.

The next early bird date is November 24 when Mercury turns and our planning and organising enters the final stage. Therefore I would invite you to register as early as possible because we will have a limit on the amount of attendees we will be able to accept. At this time we will also make the decision whether we will release one day or two day tickets.

I cannot sign off without acknowledging the loss of one of the VAA’s dearly loved and respected colleagues. Neville Lang died on the 28th of April and he will be truly missed by his astrological community as he gave so much of himself. Neville convened the 2000 FAA Conference in Melbourne and we keep his spirit alive in our memory.

Weaving the Fabric of Time: 2012 and Beyond
an astrological journey into times past, present and future

With Mercury retrograde it is a great time to backtrack over any news about the conference. On a personal note this Mercury R is exactly opposite my natal Mercury R so I hope I will remember what it is I wanted to say!

Having subscribed to the newsletter you will automatically receive any new pages that go up on the site. Therefore over the past few weeks you would have received four new pages from our trade fair exhibitors introducing themselves and their products. These are automatically generated from our website and are not personal ads. The trade fair lists the exhibitors who will be with us, including the team from Solar Fire at Esoteric Technologies and Spica Books who distribute the Mountain Astrologer as well as new and out of print books.

We also welcome another international speaker from the UK.

Frank Clifford

Frank Clifford who runs the London School of Astrology will be doing two lectures during the conference. Many of you will already know Frank, but maybe you don’t know that you do. When you are searching the data of famous people you might go to the Clifford file on Solar Fire where you find all the famous and infamous names and their birth data! Frank compiled this data over years. As well as teaching at his school in London, Frank is a palmist and prolific writer.

I was speaking recently to Robert Hand who is looking very forward to his journey to Oz.

Robert first came to Australia in 1984 for the Melbourne conference at Monash. Ironically this was my first trip to Oz as well; some memories there! Robert’s pre-conference workshop is very popular and we will limit numbers so early registration is advised.

We will be releasing the conference schedule of lectures and their times after the next early bird registration.
Don’t forget that the next cut off date is June 4th and you can take advantage of the discounted price when you pay in full.
