2012 FAA CONFERENCE: Weaving the Fabric of Time
November 22, 2012

Finally, an overdue update! Apologies for the time lapse since the last newsletter, but from the middle of September to late October I was in Greece and since coming home I have been catching up. But with only a few days left for the final early bird I wanted to remind everyone that Mercury turns retro early evening on Thursday November 24th and we will honour the early bird rate up until Friday when we will change the registration form on the website. Don’t hesitate to be in touch if you have any questions –

All is on track for the conference – while both the planning and then the launching of the conference is enormously exhilarating, it is also extremely anxiety-provoking at times, questioning whether all the final details have been attended to and everything is ready to roll. However I am sure it will be, as all the committee endeavours to do their best. In the past the conferences have always had a life of their own, as the delight at reconnecting with friends and the enjoyment of being able to be with people speaking your language takes over. The FAA Conferences have their own culture which is always friendly and fun, along with learning curves and inspired moments. So if something is important to you please let us know. Below is some news about the conference and as soon as early bird registration is completed I will be back in early December with more –

PROGRAM CHANGE
What we can always expect when planning are changes. The only program change I have to announce at this time is that unfortunately Anne Button will not be speaking due to a recent operation. We certainly wish Anne all the best for a speedy recovery and do hope she is able to attend the conference, as Anne’s presence always lights up the room.

But we are blessed to be able to welcome Dr. David Juste back to Melbourne as a conference speaker – in 2009 David gave a weekend seminar for Astro*Synthesis on The Astrological Renaissance which was superb.

Dr. David Juste

Dr. David Juste was born in Belgium to a mother who introduced him to astrology at an early age. He received a high distinction for his Bachelor of Arts in History, writing his thesis on astrology in the middle Ages. His MA (Harvard University) thesis was titled The Study of Medieval Astrology: Achievements and Outlook. In 2000 he received his Doctor of Philosophy (History) from the University of Bruxelles, again exploring ancient astrological techniques. Dr. David Juste has extensive experience in astrological manuscripts and spends his time in the libraries of Europe cataloguing these. David has taught many interesting programs and written extensive articles on medieval cosmology, the uses of astrology, medieval astronomy and astrological influences on art. If any other program changes do happen, they will be posted on the website.

FLIGHT ARRIVALS
For those of you arriving at Tullamarine or Avalon airports and coming straight to either International House or University College could you please send in your flight arrival details to me at astrosynthesis@bigpond.com – this will help us keep track of arrivals. We are planning on emailing everyone who is arriving around the same time and put you in contact with each other to see if you would like to share a taxi – please let us know your arrival details and also if I can share your email with other delegates arriving about the same time as you.

ROBERT HAND WORKSHOP January 18, 2012

As previously announced this workshop is full. The venue will be the Abbotsford Convent and transportation will be available to and from the venue from International House and University College. The Abbotsford Convent houses a wing of alternate therapists so if you also wanted to coordinate your visit with any other of the treatments available or if you are just interested in the venue go to: http://www.abbotsfordconvent.com.au/wellbeing. On site there are many places to have lunch or coffee, have time out, take a relaxing walk along the Yarra or visit the children’s farm.

PRE and POST CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Some of the workshops are filling fast so to avoid disappointment please register early. All pre and post conference workshops will be held at University College.

CONFERENCE DAY TICKETS
At time of writing we have not yet released any day tickets for the conference, as projections are that we may well reach our capacity. Therefore only a handful of day tickets will be released so please keep in touch with the website. And if you are certain that you will be attending the conference, it is best to register as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

ACCOMMODATION
Single student rooms are still available at the conference venue from the 18-23. If you are coming in earlier or staying after accommodation is available at International House. However under FAQ we have also listed many other accommodation options.

FINAL CONFIRMATION
In January we will be contacting you to confirm all your bookings and registration details –

But for now, where’s that eclipse?

My best wishes,

Brian Clark
FAA Conference Coordinator
