Remembering Keven Barrett
26 November, 1929 – 27 December, 2011
Sad news for Australian astrology with the passing of Keven Barrett on the evening of December 27, 2011 following a heart attack at his Wentworth Falls home. Keven, 82, had been recuperating from recent eye surgery. Keven Barrett had a distinguished career in Australian astrology, being the President of the Federation of Australian Astrologers from 1980 to 1986. He was also the foundation and National President of the Australian Council of Vedic Astrology from 1997-2003, and a Life Member of the American Council of Vedic Astrology.
Keven was a good friend, as he was with many Australian and overseas astrologers. We will all miss him greatly and to his close ones go my heartfelt commiserations.

Keven will long be remembered and respected for his great contribution to the Federation of Australian Astrologers as National President, lecturer, researcher and writer. His great enthusiasm and knowledge of Vedic Astrology was shared by us personally when he presented a special one-day workshop to the Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology students and researchers; a friend to astrology and astrologers and a personal friend to me.
The American Federation of Astrologers Inc. was saddened to learn of Keven’s death. The Board of Directors and members have fond memories of Keven’s visit to the AFA 50th Anniversary Las Vegas Convention in 1988. As one of the Convention Faculty lecturers, Keven demonstrated his vast knowledge of ancient Hindu natal and predictive methods and made many new International friends in the astrological community. He will be sadly missed, both personally and professionally.
